| Alby Welcomes Westpac’s Special Relief Package to Assist Burrangong Meats Employees | Email this page | | Back | Federal Member for Hume, Alby Schultz, has welcomed the announcement that Burrangong Meats employees who are Westpac customers can gain access to a special relief package. “In a media release yesterday, Westpac’s Regional General Manager for the Riverina and South West NSW, Michael Flagg, announced that Westpac will provide a special relief package to assist customers who are employees of Burrangong Meats affected by the closure on Tuesday.” Mr Schultz said. “Mr Flagg advised that the relief package offers assistance to employees who are customers of Westpac with home loans, credit cards, personal loans and customers wishing to access term deposits will be able to do so without penalty.” “Businesses affected by the closure have not been forgotten either.” Mr Schultz added. “Westpac has also announced that businesses affected with existing loans can request loan restructuring without incurring the usual bank establishment fees.” “Westpac is also offering affected workers and their families a free consultation with their financial planners so they can understand what their options are for their financial future.” “These special relief measures show that there is genuine concern for the families affected and I encourage all other lenders to follow Westpac’s lead and offer similar packages to their customers affected by the closure of the meatworks.” Mr Schultz concluded
